Bio

Susan Valentino graduated from Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs, NY with a B.S. degree in Fine Art and Business with honors.

She began her career in museum administration at the Neuberger Museum located on the campus of SUNY Purchase, working with the membership/fundraising department.

At the Museum of the Moving Image located in Astoria Queens, she was instrumental in developing a membership base for publications and funding sources prior to its opening in 1988. The museum is dedicated to preserving artifacts from the motion picture industry.

Susan continued her fundraising efforts and event planning at The American Federation of Arts in NYC, the leader in organizing and touring art exhibitions around the world. She also served as Director of the Schick Art Gallery at Skidmore College.

Susan taught art instruction to children (K-12) and adults at a private art studio in Warren, NJ. Classes included group, virtual and private tutoring in drawing, painting and jewelry making. Her favorite approach to teaching often fused different periods of art history, encouraging students to interpret artistic styles and techniques within their own artwork.

She enjoys working in acrylic, oil, pastel and graphite. Her works often share styles similar to the Abstract Impressionists, with vibrant, bold and spontaneous color palettes.

Susan is a resident of Saratoga Springs, NY where she is a member of the Saratoga Springs Preservation Foundation and a involved with Skidmore College Alumni activities.
